Persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN) is a common and life-threatening disorder during neonatal period. Mortality is about 10% to 20%. This study was to recognize its high risk factors, so we can prevent PPHN effectively. Datas were collected retrospectively among 57 cases with PPHN and 114 non-PPHN cases who admitted to the NICU in the first hospital of Jilin university between January, 2009 and December, 2010. 17 factors were analyzed in this study, including antenatal, perinatal and postnatal predictors of PPHN. Through single factor analysis, 5 factors had significant difference, including asphyxia, premature rupture of membranes, neonatal severe pneumonia, respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), congenital heart disease(CHD). Through multiple Logistic regression analysis, neonatal severe pneumonia and RDS had significant difference. So we can draw a conclusion that neonatal severe pneumonia and RDS were the independence high risk factors of PPHN.
